This Privacy Policy explains how Starlight ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information you provide when using this website.

1. Information We Collect

• Submission data: the name, dedication text, and star colour you type into the form. This is displayed publicly on the sky.
• Payment data: processed entirely by Razorpay. We receive a Razorpay Payment ID and Order ID confirming the transaction, but never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, or banking credentials.
• Server logs: standard logs including IP address, browser type, and timestamps, retained for security and abuse prevention.
• Local storage: a small entry in your browser's localStorage remembers which star is yours so we can highlight it on return visits.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To display your submitted name and dedication on the public sky
• To process your payment through Razorpay
• To prevent abuse, spam, and fraud
• To respond to your support and refund requests
• To comply with applicable legal obligations

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your information. We share payment data with Razorpay solely for the purpose of processing your transaction. We may disclose information if required by a valid legal process (e.g. court order).

4. Data Retention

• Star submissions (name, dedication, payment identifiers) are retained indefinitely as part of the public sky.
• Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

5. Your Rights

You may request removal of your submitted star at any time by emailing durgapursteeltech@gmail.com with your Razorpay Payment ID and the name as it appears on the sky. We will remove it within 7 business days of verification.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use browser localStorage for the single purpose of remembering your star. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Compliance

We aim to comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 of India.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes.
